Rural Partnerhsips

Key activities:

This theme of the HRAOP will provide additional capacity to strengthen the work of the Humber Rural Partnership, and ensure effective delivery of the Rural Strategy for the Hull and Humber Ports City Region. In particular it will support additional officer capacity within North Lincolnshire Council with a specific remit to link the aims and objectives of the Humber Rural Partnership more effectively to corporate/LSP contexts in North and North East Lincolnshire. It will also enable the Northern Lincolnshire Rural Forum to be more effectively supported and developed.

The new post will develop and report to Northern Lincolnshire Rural Forum to enable local rural activity to be supported and aligned to strategic structures locally, sub-regionally and regionally and is consistent with Rural City Region aspirations. The post will operate within a robust strategic context and will provide a link between Northern Lincolnshire Rural Forum and the LSP, rural partnerships emerging though community-based management proposals and also the numerous existing initiatives operating across the area.

Joint working with North Lincolnshire’s Community Planning Team, economic development officers and the Strategic Regeneration Rural Officer will support rural business development and cross-service working. The post will also assist the process of rural evidence gathering in Northern. This work will ensure that the City Region Rural Strategy and its Implementation Plan are based on a robust, comprehensive, and updated evidence base.

Additionally, the Rural Partnership Capacity Building strand of activity will include resources to facilitate the following activities:

  • the effective management of the Humber Access to Opportunities Programme within East Riding of Yorkshire Council (the lead partner and Accountable Body)

  • support high-level strategic governance activity, following on from the successful Humber Rural Delivery Pathfinder Programme.
